At its annual developer conference, Intel’s Altera has announced exciting new details about its upcoming Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 FPGA products, designed to fuel next-gen AI, edge, and industrial applications.

The Agilex 3 series is a cost- and power-optimized solution targeting smart edge computing, with integrated AI capabilities and enhanced security features like bitstream encryption and tamper detection. Boasting up to 135K logic elements, Agilex 3 offers a powerful combination of performance and compact form factor, perfect for applications like autonomous vehicles and industrial IoT.
Meanwhile, the Agilex 5 series expands its reach with the launch of new development kits and broad software support, allowing developers to dive into high-performance, edge-optimized FPGA computing. Altera’s Quartus Prime Pro software now offers fast compilation times and expanded device support, including integration with RISC-V solutions and enhanced real-time OS compatibility.
The Agilex 3 series is set for software support in early 2025, with production kits arriving by mid-year.
