At the 2024 LG webOS Summit, LG Electronics announced a groundbreaking partnership with gaming lifestyle brand Razer and semiconductor giant MediaTek to unveil the world's first Bluetooth Ultra-Low Latency (BT ULL) controller. This innovation, showcased using LG webOS smart TVs and Razer's advanced Bluetooth game controller, promises an unprecedented input delay of just 1 millisecond, delivering lightning-fast response times for competitive gamers.
During the summit, attended by 300 representatives from 140 companies across 24 countries, LG highlighted its future plans for expanding the AI-driven webOS ecosystem. The BT ULL controller was put to the test against standard controllers, demonstrating superior responsiveness in cloud-based games like first-person shooters, racing, and fighting games.
In collaboration with MediaTek, LG is integrating BT ULL technology into MediaTek’s Wi-Fi "MT7921" chipsets, which also feature Wi-Fi 6 support for enhanced reliability. Razer will be the first company to receive certification for BT ULL controllers, ensuring seamless compatibility with LG webOS smart TVs.
With high-end OLED and QNED models supporting 120 Hz refresh rates, LG is set to revolutionize cloud gaming, bringing ultra-fast, immersive gameplay to living rooms worldwide by 2025. This marks a major leap forward for gamers seeking top-tier performance on their home entertainment systems.
