Midea has introduced its first lineup of cordless kitchen appliances that utilize the newly finalized Ki wireless power standard. Announced at the IFA 2024 event in Berlin, the series includes a blender, steamer, and kettle, all designed to operate without traditional power cords. Instead, these appliances draw power wirelessly through induction plates that adhere to the Ki standard. This innovation is part of Midea's "Celestial Flex Series," marking a significant shift toward decluttering kitchen spaces by eliminating cables.
The Ki standard, developed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), can deliver up to 2.2 kilowatts of power through compatible cooktops and countertops, ensuring seamless energy transfer between surfaces and appliances. While Midea has not yet revealed pricing or availability, the company’s introduction of these products showcases its leadership in adopting cutting-edge kitchen technology.
