In a major announcement on September 10, Sony officially revealed the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro, with pre-orders starting on September 26, 2024. During the reveal, Mark Cerny introduced the console’s upgraded specs in a promotional video, showcasing its improved performance and graphical capabilities. The PS5 Pro will feature a 2TB SSD and a new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) for enhanced image upscaling, offering 45% more rendering capacity than the base PS5.
The console will be priced at $699 and will launch globally on November 7, 2024. Cerny demonstrated the PS5 Pro's advanced ray tracing and PSSR using games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Last of Us Part 2, highlighting the improved visuals and performance.
