The upcoming Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 has been teased to feature some exciting new capabilities, most notably the addition of a heart-rate sensor. This new feature allows the earbuds to track your heart rate during workouts and send the data to the Apple Health app. To utilize this, users must wear both earbuds simultaneously. This functionality aligns with Apple’s push toward integrating health monitoring into more of its wearables.

In terms of design, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will maintain its signature adjustable ear-hook for a secure fit but with a more streamlined and thinner form. The physical button that was previously located on the Beats logo will now be replaced by a touch sensor, while a physical button remains on the earbud stem for controls.

The color options have also been expanded to include new variations such as purple, orange, and light brown, alongside the classic black version. The earbuds are expected to launch next year.
