U-tec, a leader in smart home solutions, has announced the release of the world’s first smart lock leveraging ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.
The new Ultraloq Bolt Mission UWB+NFC smart lock is designed to provide enhanced security with precise spatial awareness, enabling hands-free access for authorized users within close range. This smart lock will be available starting in Q4 2024.
The UWB technology allows devices to accurately track their location relative to the lock, offering a new level of convenience and protection. The lock integrates with major smart home platforms such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and more, supporting Matter and HomeKit at launch. A more advanced version, which will also support the Aliro standard, is slated for release in 2025.
