AMD has officially released the Radeon RX 7800M, a powerful new GPU designed for high-performance gaming laptops. Built on the RDNA 3 architecture, the RX 7800M is positioned as a mid-range option between the high-end RX 7900M and the entry-level RX 7600M. It comes equipped with 60 compute units (CUs) and 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM, offering a significant boost in gaming performance while maintaining a balance between power and thermal efficiency.
Early benchmarks suggest that the RX 7800M outperforms NVIDIA's RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, making it an attractive choice for gamers who want strong performance without the bulk of more powerful models like the RX 7900M. The total graphics power (TGP) is rated at 180W, similar to the RX 7900M, but still optimized for more portable gaming systems. Clock speeds reach 2,145MHz, slightly higher than the RX 7900M, ensuring that the GPU handles modern AAA games with ease.
Laptop manufacturers are expected to roll out devices featuring this GPU soon, providing gamers with a highly competitive option in the mid-range gaming market.
